TCPC Members~

The park officially opened April 15, and it is certainly good to see things come alive again at TCPC.  Several folks were here early and helped in getting the Club House and grounds cleaned.  Ten folks showed up at the Club House on April 6 for a cleaning ‘party’.  Thanks to Heinz & Linda Asmuss, Janet Bradshaw, Dave Buttleman, Jim & Donna Carr, Harold & Sandy Hughes, Rachel Marchisin, and Don Shires for their hard work in making the Club House look good and ready for the new year.

April 7 another ten folks showed up to rake and blow leaves from around the Club House and the visitor lots.  Thanks to Victor & Judy Bowman, Gene Carter, Harold Hughes, Earl & Fran Johnson, Jim & Jenice Johnson, Don Shires and Wag Wagnon for working HARD to make the outside around the Club House and the visitor lots look nice.  These two work parties did a great job and we even had a little fun in the process.

If you have not been able take the golf cart trail to Daddy’s Creek and see the new steel bridge with wood treated decking that David Manly has donated to the park you are in for a treat.  David graciously offered this last year and has worked over the winter making it.  He delivered it April 10 and has the steel assembled and in place.  The Manly’s poured the concrete anchor pylons April 20.  It is going to be so nice when they finish and is made so that golf carts can use it also.  Cody Manly said it was ‘Momma’s Bridge Over Daddy’s Creek’.   Our thanks to David and the Manly’s for this wonderful addition to our park.  It will be enjoyed for years to come.

NEWS FROM THE CAMPGROUND: The Tennessee Plateau and Valley has enjoyed abundant rains this winter and spring.  The result is that the ground water table has been recharged and Running Deer Lake, is full to the brim.

The Campground is busy with preparations for the April 15th opening.  Don Shires already has the Internet and Wi-Fi operational.  An early guest in a sleek 34 ft., 3-axle Airstream stayed on the visitor lot for a couple of days. Traveling for a company call Water Solutions, the couple will return later this summer.  They said that "besides being beautiful, TCPC is the perfect cross country stop over for Airstreamers."

THE AIRSTREAM: One Sleek Mod Pod

"When Byam introduced the first Airstream in 1931, it was as an innovative way to allow the average Joe to fulfill his dreams of discovery in relative comfort. Now the Ohio-made trailers are enjoying a newfound status: They have gone from cult classic among nomadic retirees to chic design statement for the affluent.

Sales doubled between 2003 and 2006, and 28% of the people who purchased an Airstream last year had never owned an RV before. Celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Matthew McConaughey, and Sandra Bullock use them as mobile dressing rooms; corporations turn them into clever brand experiences on wheels."

TCPC an AED Facility

Heart.small.2.jpg

Congratulations! to the 14 TCPC members who successfully underwent AED and CPR certification by the American Red Cross on 8/17/07.  T.C.P.C. purchased an AED (automated external defibrillator), and sponsored training, to optimize response to cardiac emergencies.  The AED is stored in a cabinet in the clubhouse, ready for use by anyone who has the appropriate training.  Remember, someone that suffers sudden cardiac arrest has the greatest chance of survival with early defibrillation.
